As reported by Chinanews.com, the 2018 China Open (Snooker) is about to begin on April 2. Prior to the start of the event, the tournament announced on March 20 that they had embraced a new title sponsor, Fuhua Group.
At the press conference, representatives from World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) and Fuhua Group signed a 4-year partnership agreement. According to Chinanews.com, this agreement will see Fuhua Group become the title sponsor of the China Open (Snooker) for the next 4 years.
From April 2 to 8, the 2018 China Open (Snooker) will take centre stage at the Olympic Sports Center in Beijing. 72 snooker players from around the world will gather to compete for the record-breaking prize pool of over £1m. Reportedly, the prize pool for the 2018 China Open (Snooker) is the second highest for a global snooker event, only being outranked by the World Snooker Championship.
Fuhua Group, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Beijing, is a company focused on investment banking, asset management and asset operation.
The China Open is a professional snooker tournament in China. The first international snooker tournament in China was the China International played in September 1997, a non-ranking tournament bringing together the top 16 players and local players. After the 2001 tournament the event was abandoned but was revived for the 2004/05 season.
