Alex Hua Tian was not only China’s first equestrian eventer to compete in the Olympics, but he was also the youngest rider ever in the sport's history to compete at the highest level. Since the age of 18, he has represented China in both the 2008 and 2016 Olympic Games. During the 2016 Rio Olympics he achieved another historic breakthrough by finishing 8th out of 65 entrants. He was also the "Visit Britain" Ambassador for the 2012 Olympics. He is a Patron of the World Horse Welfare, sharing the stage with the Princess Royal at the WHW conference in 2013. In 2017, the British Horse Society appointed Hua as their Goodwill Ambassador to promote the healthy growth of equine culture in China.
Alex Hua Tian and akplus now embark on an exciting cooperation as akplus will work to capture the uniqueness of Hua's Eastern and Western background. In doing so, the company hopes to better showcase his ability to truly embody and reflect the power of China as Hua takes on more responsibilities as the role model for new generations in China. The two will jointly promote the development of China's equestrian sports and develop opportunities for increased consumption in this new domain.
Hua stressed that: "I have represented China in equestrian sport at the Olympics twice as an individual. So people always think that I do everything myself or that I’m “lonely”. This is not the case as I have built a tremendous team of equally passionate people to support me and my horses. Because of this I have huge admiration for hardworking, passionate, trustworthy and experienced people and very much understand their value. Whether it is building my personal brand or planning the business development, akplus and I share the same passion and values. I very much look forwards to working with this dynamic and exciting team!”
“I've known Alex for years,” said akplus co-founder and CEO Amy Yang “I’ve always admired his enthusiasm and dedication to the sport, as well as have highly respected his continued effort towards the spread of equine culture. With our long-term strategic relationship, we hope to harness and optimize the value of Alex through the insights of our team. To begin our relationship on a good note, we are currently developing a content series towards the 2018 Asian Games and the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games.”
