Singapore will hold China Equine Cultural Festival (CECF) over the weekend of 21st-22nd February 2015. The owner of the event, China Horse Club, a Tianjin-based horse club, held a press conference on February 3 in Singapore, announcing the event officially.
CECF is the signature event of China Horse Club. It was launched in 2013, and is largely targeted for the elite class. In the last two years, it was held in Hohhot and Shanghai respectively.
This year is the first time the event is held overseas. It coincides with the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore.
This two-day event comprises of a charity cocktail party, a race day, a shopping activity and member seminars.
China Horse Club signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Turf Club on March 4 2014 regarding holding the event. It was originally set to be held in the second half of 2014 according to this memorandum.
It was also reported that this was the first thoroughbred race from Chinese mainland held overseas and had the highest bonus in mainland China – 1 million yuan for a single race at most ($163,600).
