The American multinational sportswear brand, New Balance, has recently announced that Chinese actor Leo Wu will become their new brand ambassador.
The 18-year-old, known as the “Nation's Little Brother” in China, became very popular when he was a little boy.
As Arthur Ang, General Manager at New Balance China, said: “It’s our great honour to cooperate with Mr. Leo Wu, an outstanding actor for the new generation. As an actor, his braveness, hard work and aspiration is a perfect fit for our new brand value launched globally—Fearlessly Independent. As a sports brand with over a 110-year history, we are trying to encourage people to challenge the old rules and move forward. We believe that Leo Wu will bring amazing ideas for the New Balance family.”
Starting from March, New Balance will release more advertising activations featuring Wu, and begin starring him in advertising campaigns.
In recent years, sports brands have started to sign famous actors, actresses or models as their ambassadors. In January 2017, Reebok named Leo Wu, Wang Deshun and Mabel Yuan as their ambassadors in Greater China.
