Anhui Province has recently released a plan to develop its fitness and leisure industry for the 2017-2025 period, which aims to make fitness and leisure into a 120-billion-yuan industry by the year 2025.
According to the plan, Anhui is looking to establish a 15-minute fitness circle. Specifically, the province sees the Yangtze River and the Huai River as two axles, and Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu as three industry centers. Anhui also plans to set up four sports functional zones, including Hefei Sports Competition Shows Zone, Wanjiang Fitness Equipment Manufacturing Zone, Wannan Sports Tourism and Leisure Zone and Wanbei Folklore Sports Fitness Zone.
In addition to this, efforts will also be made to set up eight excellent mountain outdoor sports lines and boost the development of water sports and mass-participation winter sports tourism.
At the same time, Anhui will bring unmanned aerial vehicle education to local schools, with the goal of establishing a national model airplane training base. The plan also includes the establishment of advanced self-driving sports camps and fostering sports stars to popularize the Five Animal Frolics, a traditional Chinese martial art.
