VIVA China Holdings Limited recently announced their partnership with Dutch Eredivisie champions Feyenoord on Jan 23. Under this partnership, the two sides will jointly launch a new project, the Feyenoord Viva Football Academy.
Reportedly, Feyenoord Viva Football Academy will open training centers across China, where Feyenoord’s training system and coaching team setup will feature.
As Viva China’s President and former gymnastics Olympic medalist Li Ning introduced, the newly established football academy aims at fostering youth football talent and training coaches in China, to be achieved via the launch of various football training projects.
At the same time, the partnership between the two sides also aims to complement the development of Li-Ning Sports Parks across China, as well as sports towns and sports communities.
Founded in 1908, Feyenoord has won 15 Dutch Eredivisie titles. Internationally, it was the first Dutch team in history to take home both the European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
Viva China Holdings Limited was founded in 2006 and its strategy is to “drive the establishment of an integrated sports platform by leveraging its strong portfolio of sports resources.”
