Hainan launches sports town industry alliance

Hainan Province has set up a sports town industry alliance of Chinese real estate companies, sports tourism organizations, sports experts and institutional investors.

The alliance aims to develop a well-established development and operation model for Hainan sports towns, along with introducing professional talents for the local sports industry.

According to a report by Hainan Daily, the local government is looking to establish several sports towns and training bases.

Specifically, two local cities, Haikou and Sanya, are making efforts to become national sports and fitness cities. The provincial government is promoting the construction of several sports towns, including Haikou Mission Hills Sports and Fitness Town, Sanya Diving and Water Sports Town, Chengmai Mind Sports Town, Wanning Surfing Town. 

At the same time, the local government is also seeking to establish the Hainan Provincial Surfing Team and Haikou Chinese Soccer (Southern) Training Base as well as improve supporting facilities of the National Sailing Sports Training Base, the National Beach Volleyball Training Base and Wuzhishan National Integrated Training Base.
