Wanda Themed Entertainment, a subsidiary of Dalian Wanda Group Co Ltd and China Youth Daily, is carrying out “FIFA Flag Bearers” programme, giving a selection of children the chance to carry the FIFA Flag at the start of a FIFA match in 2018.
Starting from December 15, 2017, the programme has attracted more than 1,500 applicants and about 130,000 votes by January 3rd.
In 2016, Wanda Group was named first Chinese top-tier partner of FIFA, which will see the Chinese company support the world’s football governing body until 2030.
This deal, covering the next four World Cups until 2030, has become a landmark for Wanda to enter the highest level of sponsorship rights.
As one of the important rights empowered by FIFA, the “FIFA Flag Bearers” programme will also give the proposed 12 children from China more opportunities like team training view and the post-match team bench visit.
