Chinese business conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group has made a further step to enhance its brand in the Spanish market by agreeing to a title sponsorship deal for Atlético Madrid's training ground, according to Sportspro Media.
The business group, which is masterminded by China’s richest man, Wang Jianlin, bought a 20 percent stake in the Spanish Soccer club early last year, and has now moved to rename the team’s training ground as the Ciudad Deportiva Wanda Atlético de Madrid.
The training ground, located in the Majadahonda suburb of the Spanish capital, is now decorated with a banner displaying its new name in both Spanish and Chinese.
No value was given for the naming rights deal, but it comes during a period of sustained investment in the club from Wanda, which is looking to expand its presence in the European sporting market.
Atlético Madrid, the 10-time Spanish champions, currently sit second in La Liga.
