PPTV welcomes football commentary guru Zhang Lu

Having previously recruited two of China’s most popular football commentators, Zhan Jun and Huang Jianxiang, PPTV have officially announced that they have added another football commentary guru, Zhang Lu, to their roster. 

Zhang Lu is a veteran and renowned football commentator bringing with him a professional and humorous style which adds to his strong reputation among Chinese football fans. He started his career as a football commentator assistant in 1981 and began appearing on tv screens in 1991, when China Central Television (CCTV) started showing Italian Serie A Games. 

One extraordinary fact is that Zhang was elected as Vice President of the Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan FC in 2000 and still remains in that position today.

Over the past years, Zhang has co-commentated with Zhan Jun on football games and Chinese fans now regard them as one of the strongest pairs in football commentary in China today. Huang Jianxiang has also worked well with Zhang on the commentary of Serie A games. As a result, the reunion of the three next season on PPTV has been truly welcomed by Chinese football fans. 

Up to now, PPTV has owned the media rights to premier leagues such as LaLiga, the Premier League, Bundesliga, the AFC Champions League and the Chinese Super League. Consequently, Zhang will appear on a variety of football games as one of the commentators alongside Serie A and UEFA Champions League games, which Zhang has been commenting on for years.
