SportAccord Convention 2026 sets its sights on sport’s digital frontier
21 Mar 2026 20:08

Shanghai Pudong Development (SPD) Bank and the Chinese Super League outfit, Guangzhou Evergrande, have reached a strategic partnership to launch a co-branded credit card in China.
The card comes with a choice of two different images on the front: Evergrande players or the club badge. The two sides also plan to offer various gifts including sportswear and peripheral products for those Evergrande fans who own the credit cards.
At the same time, the SPD Bank is also looking to provide users with discounts or rebates of various types and opportunities to meet Evergrande players.
Guangzhou Evergrande is a successful professional football club in China that dominated the CSL from 2011 to 2017, along with two AFC Champions League titles and two fourth places in both the 2013 and 2015 FIFA Club World Cups.
In December 2016, the Bank also released a similar credit card in partnership with the world’s top football club, FC Barcelona.
