Following areas like Sichuan Province, Beijing and Shanghai, Fujian Province has also published a plan to accelerate the development of its fitness and recreational industry, which includes a goal for the industry to be worth over RMB 200 billion by 2025.
To achieve this goal, Fujian Province has implemented a series of specific plans for growing the industry.
First of all, offering more kinds of facilities for fitness and recreation should be a top priority for Fujian, such as building tracks for hiking and cycling which wind through the province, along with exercise squares and parks. Meanwhile, there will be 3 to 5 clubs to be established in each city and county of Fujian Province, making the total number of fitness clubs in the province to surpass 100.
Given that Fujian has the advantage in sports equipment manufacturing, the next step for them is to support 3 to 5 sports equipment companies to become leaders of the industry in China, taking the dominating positions in the market.
Organizing high-quality sports events are also a part of the plan. Fujian plans to host 2 or 3 world-class original sports events to take place in the province. The number of national and provincial events to be organized in the province should reach no less than 5 and 20 respectively.
Additionally, 30 sports and recreational towns and a group of sports industrial parks will be established in Fujian.
