September 14: At a conference hosted by the Chinese and Argentine governments in Buenos Aires, Argentine President Mauricio Macri met with Gou Zhongwen, Director of China's General Administration of Sport and President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
At the meeting, President Macri welcomed Director Gou and stated that Argentina would be willing to deepen the cooperation on football by launching and carrying out some football-related schemes, based on the consensus reached with the Chinese President Xi Jinping in May 2017. The football cooperation will become an important aspect of the overall partnership between Argentina and China.
In response to President Macri’s statements, Director Gou expressed that the football cooperation had been of high concern by President Xi and President Macri.
Based on the Memorandum of Understanding in bilateral cooperation signed by China and Argentina, China would like to promote the interaction and collaboration with Argentina in football youth training, as well as football coaches and referees training and development.
