Sina Sports has announced that it is expected to select the first UFC Chinese Octagon Girl for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), as part of the sports company’s long-term strategy with the event.
Sina Sports reached long-term strategic agreement with the UFC at the start of 2016, which made the Chinese sports media outlet become an “Official Digital Media Partner of the UFC” and the “Official UFC Community” in China.
The selection, open to females aged 18 to 30 who love fitness, will start from August 10th to September 5th, as a part of Sina’s Fitness Competition.
All Sina Weibo users will be allowed to vote for their favorite candidates, as an official report said. The winner is expected to become the Chinese Octagon Girl at UFC Night in Shanghai, on November 25th, 2017.
Meanwhile, the girl will also be invited to participate during the whole fighting week, and have the opportunity to become an international octagon girl for UFC’s global events. In addition, Sina Sports will name the girl as the ambassador for Sina Fitness.
UFC is a top-flight mixed martial arts (MMA) organization and the largest Pay-Per-View event provider in the world. It produces more than 40 live events annually that consistently sell out some of the most prestigious arenas around the globe.
