Interview with Thomas Lund: to follow new trends and bring younger generations to the sport

Chinese electronics manufacturer Konka Group has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with La Liga.
This deal will see the Shenzhen-based company become an official partner of the Spanish top-flight football league in China for the next two seasons. The financial terms of this deal have not been disclosed as of now.
La Liga Country Manager for Greater China, Sergi Torrents said, “This is a very important partnership for us. China, where football is growing rapidly, is a key strategic market for the league. So we’re really pleased to work closely with Konka here for the next two seasons.”
“There are more and more football fans in China. The sport is becoming very popular in this country and top international players have come here bringing more skills from European leagues,” stated La Liga Ambassador David Albelda, the former Valencia midfielder, “so it’s very significant for us to expand into this potential market.”
Although there is real competition for audience markets among the major European leagues, La Liga, with an already successful effective strategy in the market, are on their way to creating better engagement with Chinese supporters.
