According to the Argentinian media Clarin, Mauricio Macri, the President of Argentina, will visit China in May. Football is set to be one of the key issues on the agenda.
It is reported that the Argentinian President and the Chinese President Xi Jinping share a hobby beyond politics – football. Macri will start his state visit to China in the second week of May, and sign a football cooperation agreement with President Xi. Based on the agreement, Argentina would select and send a group of senior professional coaches to China for youth and professional player training. These coaches will train local Chinese coaches and share their experience in football talent cultivation.
In return, China will send professional Ping Pong, Badminton and Martial Arts coaches to Argentina for technical guidance.
Macri is a political leader with a deep love of football. In 2014, when he was Mayor of Buenos Aires, he presented a Boca Juniors No. 10 jersey to President Xi during the Chinese President’s visit to Argentina. At the end of last year, Macri also attended the wedding of Carlos Tevez, a famous Argentinian player with Shanghai Shenhua.
