Ten million winter sports tourists in Heilongjiang during Spring Festival

During the 7-day Spring Festival Holiday, 10.09 million tourists visited Heilongjiang, bringing tourist income of 12.05 billion yuan to the area, reported the Heilongjiang Commission of Tourism Development. With year-on-year growth rates of over 12%, the Ice-Snow Economy of Heilongjiang is gaining popularity.

The Spring Festival has seen a year-on-year growth in the amount of tourists to major ice-snow tourist sites. Harbin Ice-Snow World received 249,700 tourists, growing over 40% compared to last year. And over 80,000 tourists travelled to Yabuli Ski Resort, which means a year-on-year growth rate of over 20%.

During the 2016-2017 snow season, Heilongjiang introduced 5 major tourist routes, which cover all major winter sports tourist sites in the province. The “Harbin Ice-Snow World - Yabuli Ski Resort - Snow Township” route is particularly popular. Since designated as a branch venue of the Chinese Spring Festival Evening Gala, Harbin Ice-Snow World has become the most popular domestic tourist site this winter. In total it received 812,000 people with a year-on-year growth rate of 10.3%. It gained tourist income of 213 million yuan with a year-on-year growth rate of 20.7%. On Jan 31st, for instance, 55,000 tourists went there, bringing in 15 million yuan.

All the airports in Heilongjiang transported 474,400 people in total, with a year-on-year growth rate of 18.5%. And 2.145 million tourists traveled by railway, an increase of 5.2% compared to last year.
