The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2017 will take place in Shenzhen, China from 24-26 November 2017.
Private promoter SunsSports will stage the second edition of the most important 3x3 competition for national teams in Asia. The inaugural edition was held in Doha, Qatar on 15-16 May 2013.
China has been a pioneer in the development of 3x3 and was host to the 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Championships. The Chinese city of Chengdu will also host the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup this year (from 28 June–2 July).
Shenzhen has been the playground of several premium 3x3 basketball events, including the 2016 Shenzhen 3x3 Challenger. It will be one of the eight host cities of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.
A maximum of 12 men's teams and 12 women's teams will compete at the event. This said, all eligible Asian national federations are allowed to register their national teams, until the 30 January deadline.
One or several qualifying event(s) will be organised if more than 12 teams are registered in the same category.
