In the past few days, four senior executives joined WME | IMG China in quick succession. On Dec.14, WME | IMG China officially announced the additions of entertainment veteran Rick Yan, film finance agent Joe Austin, live entertainment executive David He, and basketball marketing veteran Bruce Li. All four appointments came after Michael Ma was named CEO of WME | IMG’s China.

Bruce Li, who has served as Nike’s Marketing Manager for 12 years, will take charge of WME | IMG China’s basketball division. He will spearhead professional and amateur basketball strategy in China, while supporting its continued growth in sports like tennis, soccer and golf.

Rick Yan, an entertainment veteran with 22 years experience, will lead WME | IMG China’s film and television entertainment efforts. He and Joe Austin are going to jointly develop film and television operations.

David He also joins WME | IMG China to oversee its live entertainment division. He will be responsible for WME | IMG China’s music artists as well as for IMG’s portfolio of more than 800 events around the world.

Some media reports said that according to an informed source, one of WME | IMG China’s core objectives is to get the CBA’s business operation rights when the partnership of the current CBA commercial partner expires.
