After a year, the Reignwood LGPA Classic has regained the spotlight with its new high bonus record and Grand Slam-level player lineup.
This season will be different from the past, as Alibaba Sports, set up just a year ago, will be Reignwoods’s new partner and will host the tournament jointly with Reignwood. The competition will take place from September 29 to October 2 at the Reignwood Nicklaus Private course.
This is Alibaba Sports’ first foray into a world women's professional golf tournament.“Alibaba Sports will bring the advantage of the Internet to the LGPA Classic and the digital economy model will generally upgrade the golf industry,” claimed Wei Quanmin, VP of Alibaba Sports, “Undoubtedly Alibaba will draw more attention to golf.”
Another important reason for thecooperation is the fact that Alibaba made comparatively higher profits from the golf industry on Taobao and Tianmao.
