Marco Fassone, former Managing Director(MD) of F.C. Internazionale Milan, will be appointed by Sino-Europe Sports as the CEO and MD of A.C. Milan. In the past Fassone has also been MD of Calcio Napoli and COO of F.C. Juventus.
Sino-Europe Sports, the new owners of AC Milan, believe that an experienced manager is crucial for the success of the Serie A giant.
Mr. Li Yonghong, president of Sino-Europe Sports, believes that Mr. Fassone is the best representative for the club and for the Chinese partner.
The new Chinese owners have confirmed through a statement that Marco Fassone will replace Adriano Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi and they also thanked Silvio Berlusconi. AC Milan's future holding company will be named “Rossoneri Sport”.
According to earlier reports, Berlusconi's Fininvest family holding has signed a preliminary purchase agreement valuing the club at €740 million, including €220 million of debt. The Chinese group will acquire a 99.93% stake in the Italian club.
