China Sports Media (CSM), better known as Tiao Dongli, has announced that Reuters has acquired rights to show news highlights of the Chinese Super League (CSL).
CSM, current the production and global broadcasting rights holder of the CSL, has also signed a similar partnership with SNTV, a sports news video agency owned by The Associated Press.
In addition, it is rumoured that London-based Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has agreed to purchase the broadcasting rights to the Chinese top-tier soccer league in the Caribbean.
Although the financial terms of the above deals have yet to be disclosed, the deals will enable the CSL to be shown in 54 countries and regions outside China.
Earlier, CSM was announced as a nominee for the 2nd annual TV Sports Awards (TVSA) 2016. It will be able to compete for Best TV Rights Deal and Best Football Rights Deal, due to its outstanding contribution to the Chinese soccer industry.
