NBA Yao Basketball Club to launch in Shanghai

Winter camps will take place in Beijing and Shanghai in February

NBA China and Yao Ming has announced that The NBA Yao Basketball Club, formerly known as the NBA Yao School, will launch its first camp in Shanghai in February, providing basketball training and fitness programs for boys and girls of all skill levels.

The NBA Yao Basketball Club 2015 Winter Camp will take place at the Yuanshen Basketball Park in Shanghai from Feb. 2-13, 2015.

During that time, the Club will conduct its second annual Winter Camp in Beijing with events taking place at Wukesong Hi-Park and Fanhai International Residence

The Winter Camp is a progressive 12-day training program that teaches the importance of teamwork, leadership and communication in a fun basketball environment. The camps in Shanghai and Beijing will be led by NBA-selected international coaches who have extensive experience in basketball training and youth development.

Students will attend comprehensive training sessions focusing on key basketball fundamentals that cover both individual and team concepts. Throughout the duration of the camps, students will have the opportunity to participate in games and organized team competitions where they will learn NBA Yao Basketball Club core values of teamwork and fair play.

Since its launch in February 2014, The NBA Yao Basketball Club has also provided students with the opportunity to meet and interact with NBA players and legends visiting China. Dallas Mavericks guard Rajon Rondo, along with NBA Legends Horace Grant and Glen Rice visited the camps in Beijing last year to provide specialized instruction on basketball techniques and share the joy of learning new skills with the students.
