Kunlunshan Water, a brand owned by beverage maker the JDB Group, announced yesterday (May 31) that it has become the new official water partner of World Snooker for the next three years.
According to their partnership, from the 2016/17 to the 2018/19 season, the water brand will support snooker tournaments including the UK Championship, the Masters, the Welsh Open and the World Championship.
As stated in an official report, “Branded water, glasses and ice buckets will be displayed on set next to the players and during post-match interviews at each of these tournaments.”
In addition to this, Kunlunshan will also become the title sponsor of the annual Fans Player of the Year award. This award is voted for by fans on Twitter, Sina Weibo and WeChat. The winner this year was Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Chinese pro snooker player Liang Wenbo has been appointed Promotion Ambassador of Kunlunshan World Snooker.
As World Snooker director Jason Ferguson said: “This new partnership will provide maximum opportunity for our sport to show just what it can do for a major Chinese brand. And it will display the World Snooker brand alongside Kunlunshan Water, showing just how high a mountain our sport has climbed.”
