After almost half a year’s preparation, the establishment of the Yunnan Football Elite Camp was officially announced on December 12 at Yunnan Normal University Business School.
Meanwhile, the camp has signed a partnership deal with La Liga giants Real Madrid. As part of the deal, Real Madrid will send football coaches, trainers and experts to the camp regularly with the aim of supporting football development in Yunnan province.
The camp was co-established by the Football Management Center of Yuannan Province and Yunnan Normal University Business School in response to the local government’s call to create a football talent pool for Yunnan and to raise public awareness of youth football training.
In order to set up the training camp, the Football Management Center of Yuannan began to pick out talented young players. The process commenced last February and as of November 21, more than 100 players from three age groups (2003, 2004, 2006) had been selected for the football elite camp.
According to the plan, the chosen players will be called up for football training at weekends and during the winter and summer holidays.
