The United States Tops Skema Publika's First Annual Sport and Soft Power Ranking

According to a report by the Associated Press, the NBA announced on May 17th it is about to open a basketball-themed entertainment center (NBA Playzone) in Shanghai later this summer.
This move is aimed at advancing the popularity of the sport among local fans. This new playzone will be located in the Hubin Dao Shopping Mall at Xin Tian Di. The 1,500-square meter center is expected to feature 10 elements, which will include an arena, a store, party rooms, a snack bar and a youth obstacle course.
It is reported that NBA mascots, Clutch of the Houston Rockets and Benny the Bull of the Chicago Bulls, will also make regular appearances.
The NBA have been increasing their presence in China recently. Just a few days ago, the Chinese basketball governing body CBA renewed a deal with the NBA, to extend their coach training partnership which began back in 2009.
