China Central Television’s subsidiary company CCTVSports &Entertainment Co Ltd (CCTVSE) recently announced a partnership with Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg FC on the club’s friendly match against Chinese Super League team Changchun Yatai later this month.
According to a report on the China Daily, it has been agreed that CCTVSE will be awarded the operation and promotion rights of the match, as part of Wolfsburg’s China Tour 2016. Additionally, CCTV’s sports channel will provide live coverage of the friendly on May 18th.
Wolfsburg will start the China Tour on May 16, two days after their last 2015/2016 Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart. Despite the fact that several internationals will be called up to compete in the 2016 Euros in early June, Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted there will be no change to the club's plans of bringing their first team.
It will be the Wolfsburg’s fourth China tour since the club's first trip in 2004.
