La Liga side RCD Espanyol FC, owned by Chinese company Rastar Group, has launched a youth soccer academy named EJAM Academy in Guangzhou jointly with Guangzhou Panyu Zhixin School.
Under the partnership, RCD Espanyol will work together with the School on training system, educations on coaches and player scouting. “We will bring in RCD Espanyol’s youth training coaches to Zhixin School and educate on players with Spanish training system and textbook. In the meanwhile, we will also provide excellent (Chinese) players with approaches to great clubs through our overseas networks and professional agents”, said Forlan Navarro, President at RCD Espanyol Soccer School.
Recently, the business department of RCD Espanyol Asia exchanged ideas on how to implement Espanyol’s youth training system in China and how to introduce Chinese players in the La Liga with a range of Chinese Super League clubs as well as Guangzhou Sports Bureau and Qbao Sports.
There are rumors saying the Spanish club has considered landing a Chinese player in the upcoming seasons.
