Beijing Sport University set up School of Winter Sports

Beijing Sport University (BSU) has set up a School of Winter Sports.

The School was inaugurated on 15th April by Liu Peng, General Director of the State General Administration of Sport(GAS).

Representatives of medal-winning athletes and several other high-ranking officers of GAS participated in the ceremony. Liu Jianhong, Chief Content Officer of LeSports was also present.

“The School of Winter Sports will focus on the needs of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics preparations. It will cultivate the instructors and talents (across all the relevant disciplines) needed for the development of winter sports and hosting the Winter Olympics” said Chi Jian, President of Beijing Sport University.

Chi also said the establishment of the School of Winter Sports is a historic event in the history of BSU. 

“Beijing Sport University has the responsibility to offer talent and intelligence support for the development of winter sports and for the preparation of the Beijing Winter Olympics” Chi added.

As the only university directly under GAS, it is also a ”211” Project University, a national project initiated in 1995 by the Ministry of Education with the aim of cultivating 100 key colleges for the 21st century.
