After a spending-spree in the winter transfer window when some notable international stars have been attracted to the Chinese Super League (the top division of football in China) the Chinese league now seems to be arousing media interest from outside China.
According to a report from a French news website, French broadcaster Ma Chaîne Sport (MCS) has acquired rights to the Chinese Super League, as the broadcasting group continues its search for sports rights after its acquisition of the rights to the Premier League.
French newspaper L’Équipe said MCS will broadcast two live games per day every weekend for the remainder of the 2016 CSL season. Coverage will reportedly commence from the sixth round of games scheduled for April 22-24. The financial terms of the broadcast deal have not been disclosed.
Among the CSL’s notable pre-season signings was forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, who moved from French champions Paris Saint-Germain to Hebei China Fortune.
