HKT, the Chinese telecommunications service provider, has been announced as the title sponsor for the inaugural Hong Kong ePrix, the electric-powered auto racing class.
The street-circuit race on the central harbour front on the 9th October is one leg of the FIA Formula E global circuit in the 2016–17 season. Along with being the title sponsor of the race, HKT will provide a fibre-optic broadband network and other technologies to support live broadcasting.
HKT’s chief executive, Alex Arena, said, "This sponsorship is especially significant because HKT aims to continue to innovate and enrich the lifestyle of the people of Hong Kong. HKT provide a broadband fibre access network and other state of the art technologies to support live broadcasting. Through The Club, the loyalty platform HKT, we will also offer our customers a unique experience so they can enjoy the entertainment of Hong Kong HKT ePrix".
