The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), governing body of South Korean professional baseball, signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) yesterday with the Chinese Baseball Association (CBAA) and the Hengda Lianhe Investment Company (Chinese: 恒达联合).
This MOU will see KBO and CBAA co-operate in terms of youth training, coaching projects and the operation of sporting events. As Lei Jun, the CBAA President, said, KBO is going to provide supports covering umpires, technologies and operation in the 2016 Chinese Baseball League. The two sides will also organize a youth training camp this summer.
Wang Jianwen, Hengda Lianhe’s President, said that as the marketing operator of this partnership, their company is making efforts to promote the broadcasting of Korean baseball matches in China, and to introduce Korean cheering squads and superstars into the CBL’s marketing.
"We'll be taking our first steps into the Chinese market," the KBO said in a statement. "By strengthening bilateral exchanges and promoting Korean baseball in China, we hope to expand our market in China and also help grow Chinese baseball at the grassroots level."
