The Kenda Rubber Industrial Company, a Taiwan manufacturer of pneumatic tires, announced yesterday that it has reached a sponsorship deal with the National Basketball Association’s Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the ChinaTimes.
The deal will see Kenda display its logo and branding at all Cavaliers’ home games. During the 2016 Chinese New Year, NBA fans worldwide even found the Chinese slogan of “Kenda Tires·Happy New Year” on the club’s home ground. No more details have been disclosed as of now.
Kenda has been a tiremaker in Taiwan since 1962 with manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, mainland China and Vietnam. They make tires for bicycles, motorcycles, ATVs, trailers, automobiles, and industrial equipment. They have previously sponsored the MLS side Cincinnati Reds and the NBA’s Rockets.
As a Kenda executive said, they have put together a thoughtful sports sponsorship plan, amounting to 3% of the overall budget.
