The 7th Happy Snow and Ice Season opened yesterday in the National Stadium, better known as the Bird’s Nest. The great festival will be held from December 17, 2015 to February 28, 2016. The theme of “Happy Bird’s Nest, Passionate Winter Olympics” is expected to attract a total of more than ten thousand participants.
The stadium will be turned into a ski resort during this period. Tourists will have opportunities to take part in sports and entertainment activities such as ice skating, snow tubing, bumper car on the ice and biathlon. Besides, participants will be able to simulate the experience of taking part in the Winter Olympic Games.
The Bird's Nest was the main venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and will host the 2022 Winter Olympics. For this reason, the organizers are attempting to increase participation in the winter festival, work on the brand promotion of the Bird’s Nest and create an international winter sports platform to cater for tourists from all over the world.
