There is a rumour that China Media Capital’s smart-TV start-up Whaley Technology has become the first internet TV partner of the Chinese Super League (CSL) .
The partnership will see Whaley acquire the CSL media rights from 2016 to 2020. It is said that a press conference will be held recently to disclose further details.
Last September, Ti’ao Power, another CMC subsidiary, reached a long term deal for rights to produce and broadcast the CSL between 2016 to 2020, which is valued at US$1.25 billion (RMB 8 billion).
Analysts believe that Whaley, the smart TVs start-up founded last year, will work as the media outlet of Ti’ao Power’s major sports events. The CSL is going to be one of Whaley’s key sports intellectual properties.
No speculations above have been confirmed by the Whaley Technology.
