Shanghai Real Estate Group has confirmed its partnership with the local sports governing body in the city. The two sides signed up to the deal yesterday in Shanghai.
Under this deal, Shanghai Star, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the real estate group, will partner Shanghai Sports Institute in setting up a table tennis club.
The deal will also see the subsidiary, as title sponsor, provide services for the club in the 2016/18 China Table Tennis Super League. The Shanghai sports governing body and the Institute will be responsible for club operation, events organization, regular training and medical rehabilitation.
The signing ceremony was attended by Wang Liqin, the retired Chinese table tennis player.
In January, 2014, he was ranked 12th in the world by the International Table Tennis Federation.
Under Wang’s supervision, Shanghai men’s table tennis team were triumphant at the National Table Tennis Championships in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
