Chinese-Canadian celebrity Wu Yifan, or Kris Wu, will play in the 2016 NBA All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game according to an announcement from the NBA. The game will take place on Feb. 12, 2016 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, home of the Toronto Raptors.
Wu will play for a team representing Canada alongside a variety of celebrities, including Arcade Fire front man Win Butler, actor Stephan James, Drew and Jonathan Scott from HGTV's "Property Brothers," tennis player Milos Raonic, former NBA star Tracy McGrady, NBA TV analyst Rick Fox, and Indiana Fever forward Natalie Achonwa. The team will compete against a United States team coached by Kevin Hart.
Wu Yifan will be the first Chinese person to take part in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game.
Wu, who was born in China’s Guangzhou and emigrated to Canada at the age of 10, is a popular singer and actor in China. Kobe Bryant was his hero and he himself received professional training in basketball when he was around the age of 15.
