Sina Sports announced on January 1st that they have signed a strategic partnership deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC), which will see Sina Sports become an official digital media partner of UFC in Mainland China.
As well as a Chinese website, Sina Sports will officially launch a new edition of www.ufc.cn. There will be an additional website (m.ufc.cn) for users with mobile devices.
The new website will cover VOD of UFC match highlights and special reports, as Sina revealed.
Arthur Wei, SVP at Sina and General Manager at Sina Sports, said “Our strategic cooperation with UFC® will not only influence the domestic following of UFC®, but it is also an important opportunity for the Chinese sports media to expand their coverage of UFC® events”.
“The influx of high-quality, content-rich Chinese reporting and the engagement of a new, growing Chinese fan base will no doubt add fuel to the fire of UFC®’s prowess in the world of sports. As this partnership demonstrates, both UFC® and SINA Sports are committed to expanding UFC®’s profile and fan base in China. Enhanced coverage and content available on the SINA platform and on ufc.cn will go a long way to achieving these aims.”
