China League One, China’s second tier soccer league, will see former Harbin Yiteng FC relocate the club to Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, according to various media reports.
As reported by Sina, the club completed the registration in the East China city, Shaoxing, on 31st December, 2015. This move will see the club compete in the 2016 China League One campaign under the name of Zhejiang Yiteng FC.
There were rumours that the club would move from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, to Sichuan Province when the 2015 China League One season ended. And the club did register in the South West China province three weeks ago.
According to sources, soccer's governing bodies from both provinces showed great interest in landing the club.
However, it appears that Zhejiang has got the upper hand as the Chinese Football Association has set a deadline for professional clubs that are seeking cross-region transfer.
Up to now, the club has made no official comment on the move.
