The 2015-2016 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) has welcomed its huge sponsorship deals, according to a news conference held by the Chinese Badminton Association in Beijing yesterday.
As reported, CBSL have reached agreements with six sponsors, including the major official title sponsor Haocaitou Fujian Food Company and three badminton brands - Lining, Victor and Yonex. Besides, each badminton club may have more than one sponsor. For example, Qingdao Capital Airlines Badminton Club has signed sponsorship deals with both Lining and Yonex. This means Lin Dan, who is playing for the club this season, will wear a Lining shirt but play with a Yonex badminton racket in the tournaments.
According to the new format, eight competing teams will take part in a round-robin tournament during the regular season and the top four teams will then play off for the championship. The CBSL will run between December 1st each year and January 31st the following year. The organizers plan to launch an official website, Weibo and Wechat accounts for CBSL. It is reported that CCTV 5 will broadcast each round of the 2015-2016 CBSL.
