Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) is set to launch a 3X3 basketball league and a marathon league among Chinese universities later on from December to June 2016.
The 3X3 basketball league will approximately attract over ten thousand college students from over 150 universities to the event, according to an organizer of the event.
And the organizers will also launch a marathon league as the first ever running race series among Chinese college students with objectives to build it to the top running event on campuses. The event will cover most major cities in China, laying good foundation for a dedicated running platform for Chinese students who love running.
Wang Gang, a deputy chairman at FUSC, admitted there is a lack of quality sports events among Chinese universities despite the fact that FUSC together with the sports federation for high schools host around 140 events which cover a variety of sports.
“Through these two events, we will gradually set up an athletic association among Chinese universities and schools, in which we can serve the campus sports in a more intensive and deeper manner”, Mr Wang added.
