Chinese media reported yesterday that Juventus FC of Italy’s Serie A football league would launch a football academy in the southwestern Chinese city Chongqing.
According to Chongqing Morning Post, Juventus cooperates with a financial company in China, Chongqing Financial Assets Exchange, in establishing the academy. There is no specific date yet for its launch, but an agreement would be reached within this year.
Chongqing Financial Assets Exchange is going to provide financial assistance, such as helping to look for funding for facility constructions.
Mr Ricci, the Head of Global Strategy of Juventus expressed their hope to collaborate with strong Chinese companies for the club’s development in China and the realization of the academy. Someone from the company who’s responsible for this project also said the company was willing to work with the top football clubs in the world to help promote the sport especially in the youth area.
News analyzed that other companies in Chongqing would also have chances to be involved in the football academy. It is also possible that Chongqing Financial Assets Exchange would cooperate with the club in other areas such as automotives in the future, according to someone from the company.
CFAE was founded in 2010 by the local government, with its second headquarters located in Shanghai, where the two parties negotiated the cooperation in October.
