SportAccord's Interview with Gillian Sanders: Challenges for women in sport

ZTE, a leading Chinese smartphone maker, has announced that it has become a Smartphone Partner of the NBA sides Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers. It is another big move made by ZTE.
As part of its marketing strategy to increase the brand’s visibility in US market, the Chinese company started a new approach from last year and became the official sponsor of three NBA teams: the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets and the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.
After a successful 2014-15 NBA season as sponsors of those three teams, the Chinese company is adding two more to continue the good momentum.
The partnership between ZTE and the Cavaliers covers sales and marketing elements related to the coming season and beyond, including digital, and in-arena messaging. The partnership will also include presenting sponsorship of the Cavaliers first ever Chinese New Year Celebration.
The three-year agreement between ZTE and Bulls will see the smartphone brand as the presenting partner of “Bulls-Eye View,” a series of exclusive, behind-the-scenes pieces of Bulls content that will appear on Bulls.com. ZTE and the Bulls will also hold a co-branded sweepstakes twice per season.
