Sina Sports has secured a two-year agreement with Chelsea’s Belgium international and star playermaker Eden Hazard. The deal marks Hazard becoming the fourth celebrity following Gary Neville, Carlo Ancelotti and Michael Owen to be signed by Sina Sports as a regular guest commentator.
The attacking midfielder will regularly engage with football fans online by sharing his opinions on soccer, in particular the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, joining in with a monthly online Q&A and presenting autographed merchandise to fans. He will also be the “inside man” sharing off-screen news and photos from Chelsea’s training ground and matchdays.
Hazard announced his two-year partnership deal by recording a video clip where he called on Chinese football fans to watch live European football on the Sina network.
Sina Sports is part of the Sina Group and a subsidiary of Sina.com, one of the largest news websites in China. Sina has secured the rights to broadcast the 2015/16 English Premier League season alongside Le Sports (formerly known as LeTV Sports) and Tencent Sports.
