Since the introduction by the government of new football reforms, China is trying to cooperate with Germany, the current FIFA World Cup winners. Recently on August 25th Hansum Sports and Flame China hosted the “Sino-Germany Football Culture Forum” in Beijing where they announced the importation of a German football youth training textbook specifically for the new Chinese school’s football curriculum.
They have partnered with the German Football Institute and its VP Peter Schneier who is also the Managing Director of Bayer Leverkusen’s Youth Training and Education Academy, was invited to attend the forum to deliver the keynote speech. The VP of Beijing Guoan, Zhanglu and “CSL Referee of the Year” Sun Baojie also shared their ideas during the forum.
Schneier said that the German football institute primarily have provided youth training services to the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (Germany Football Association) since 2000. FC Bayern Munich’s Neuer and Arsenal’s Ozil are their most “famous products”. Now the institute also specializes in producing a football-oriented textbook which has been offered to 336 football schools and 1000 coaches in Germany.
Zhanglu said “the football system in China has problems. People are only interested in the top players but China needs to encourage more interest through education at its grassroots and developmental stages. It would be interesting to know how the youth training system in Germany works and especially how the German people allow their children to love football.
This textbook produced by the German Football Institute has been exported to USA, South Korea and many other European countries.
