Organizers of the WTA Tianjin Open revealed players list, event posters, official promotion videos and ticket information during the news conference, on Wednesday 12th. Two players ranked among the top 10 in the world, Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland, and Czech’s promising young player Kristýna Plíšková, as well as Martina Hingis, Belinda Bencic and Zheng Saisai will also participate in the event.
WTA Tianjin Open, will take place between the 12th and 18th of October, at Tianjin Tuanbo International Tennis Center with a total prize of USD 500,000 available for singles and doubles competitions. Hawk-Eye, the official line calling technology, will be implemented in Tianjin Open for the first time.
The addition of Hawk-Eye for the next three years is an impressive commitment from a young tournament that is eager to build on the success of its first edition, following the decision to double prize money from USD 250,000 to USD 500,000.
In 2014, the first year of Tianjin Open was held successfully at Tianjin Tuanbo International Tennis Centre. Tianjin Open is looking forward to building its reputation as one of the best destinations of the WTA.
