EPL has come back. Manchester United kicked off the new season with victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but they needed a Kyle Walker own goal to do so. Super Sports, the exclusive Premier League broadcast rights holder for Mainland China and Macau from 2010/11 to 2018/19 broadcasted the match, bringing about dramatic increases in both its PC and mobile users.
According to the data provided by Super Sports, on the night that the first match of the new season took place, users of its online broadcasting platform exceeded 500,000 at its peak, with each user being on the platform for 80 minutes on average, while New Vision, the cable TV channel of Super Sports drew 3.2 million users.
The top 5 regions where most users come from are Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Beijing. Among them, Guangdong has the most cable users, which makes up 20 percent of all the cable users.
