Valencia has set up ambitious plans to speed up their business development in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
As part of their international expansion strategy, the club have opened their first overseas office in Singapore to meet the growing interest of both Asian fans and brands. The opening of the new office is hot on the heels of the appointment of veteran sports marketer, Mr. Peter Draper, as Valencia CF’s new Commercial and Marketing Director.
When announcing the opening of the new office, Mr. Draper commented: “Our first season under the new Asian ownership has caught the attention of football fans around the world, particularly in Asia. Football around the region is an important source of entertainment, so growing and developing our long-term presence in Asia is a key area in our strategic growth plan.”
Ruben Guillem, Research & Insight Manager at Valencia CF also added, “Insisting about the office in Singapore, we set up because we want to be close to the Asian area. Our main markets we are focus on are, Asia Pacific and China, In fact, China is one of the most important for us.”
This preseason Valencia did a tour in Beijing playing against FC Bayern Munich and also two years ago when they played two matches in Hong Kong against Villarreal and Hong Kong Rangers.
Ruben Guillem also said they were now preparing their next Tour for 2016, and China would be one of their candidates to visit.
