Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong raised the curtain of the 10th Chinese Ethnic Games yesterday after the organizers of the competition inked 30 deals with sponsors at the signing ceremony.
These deals are valued at RMB77.7m in total.
As part of the sponsorships, several local brands provided as much as RMB41.25m to the competition while the rest of the 77.7 million RMB was paid by even goods or services.
In addition, two car brands, Hawtai Motor and Chery Autmobile, are the official vehicle partners of the Games.
One officer of the executive committee of the Games commented that it reflected the supports from sponsors for the development of ethnic sports despite the difficulties caused by economic turndown.
As Xinhua noted, the 10th Chinese Ethnic Games attracted 6,240 athletes from all 56 ethnic groups of China to take part in approximately 200 Chinese traditional sport events.
