An international youth football tournament is set to be held this month in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with more than 50 teams from six countries including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Uzbekistan and host China competing for the title.
As many as 1,030 youth players from these mentioned countries will take part in the campaign.
The tournament, hosted by Inner Mongolia Football Association, will take place between July 16 and 26. The Under-13 category features five-a-side games, while the Under-15 teams play standard 11-a-side football.
The campaign also aims to boost the development of the sport in Inner Mongolia as a football-themed forum and workshop for presidents of football schools and referees will also be held on the occasion.
Inner Mongolia has been named by the China’s sports governing body as a pilot region for football reform. The international youth football tournament will be one of those approaches to be taken towards promotions of the sport in the area.
